Telfs - Innsbruck
length: 29 km
duration: 2 hours
Route
The third-largest town in Tyrol is one of the most beautiful areas of the country thanks to its sunny location. On a forested plateau near Telfs-Mösern, the over 12-tonne heavy, hanging Bell of Peace is perched above the Inn Valley and provides for a wonderful sound experience everyday at 5:00 PM. 14 kilometres further to the east is Tyrol’s only winegrowing village, Zirl. The famous Martinswand rises near Zirl deep into the Inn Valley and marks the boundary of the Innsbruck Valley. Innsbruck, capital of the province and university city, is famous for its art gems and buildings, like the “Goldenes Dachl”, the “Schwarze Mander”, Ambras Castle and the new ski jump run at Bergisel, as well as the new Hungerburgbahn. From Telfs, the bike paths leads over a flat plain, always near to the river bank, past small villages to Zirl, and further along the river to Innsbruck. The well signposted and secured bike path runs through the city, also along the riverbank.
